Description
Behold a piece of the world-famous Glenwood Viaduct. It's kind of sweeping and such, but world-famous? Yup. It's one of the last pieces of America's Interstate Highway system and the most expensive, because it replaced old U.S. 6 through winding Glenwood Canyon, east of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. It's a true engineering marvel; in order to fit the four-lane highway through the narrow canyon, its designers had to cantilever whole stretches of the westbound lanes out from the canyon rock-face, partially above the lower eastbound lanes, following the route of the Colorado River.
