No, this is not the surface of the moon! This is a scene from Yellowstone National Park's Lower Terrace, a complex of geothermal vents and hot springs that over time created multi-colored pools and deposits made of travertine and calcium carbonate in northwestern Wyoming. I love Yellowstone.
