Description
Started in 1958 by Jim Adams, J. Ernest Lambert, W.O. Crawford, E. Ham Wilson, Aubrey H. Fleming, C. Ed Teague, Edward Wadsworth and W.H. Gregory, The Southeastern Livestock Exposition was formed to promote the entire livestock industry. Since sponsoring the first Southeastern World Championship Rodeo at Garrett Coliseum in September of 1958, the "Southeastern" has continued to put on the annual SLE Rodeo and worked to educate the public on the importance of Alabama's livestock Industry. Each year since 1958, the Southeastern Livestock Exposition has sponsored the SLE Championship Rodeo in Montgomery, AL. It draws some of the top cowboys and cowgirls from across the U.S. and around the world. Spectators at the SLE Rodeo are also treated to some of the top rough stock animals in the business, many of which have been featured at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Highlights of the SLE Rodeo in Montgomery have included PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year, PRCA Act of the Year, as well as countless World Champion Cowboys and Cowgirls. The Southeastern Livestock Exposition continues to live up to it's reputation as the greatest rodeo east of the Mississippi.
