The Maroon Bells twin peaks are just outside Aspen, and they're tremendously popular hiking and photography destinations. But they're not easy to get to because the U.S. Forest Service restricts auto traffic down the only road leading to them. Tourists gang up in buses instead for their chance to see these beauties, and in the wintertime, one's only options are to hike or ski to them — or catch the only snowmobiles going, from the T-Lazy-7 Ranch up at the point where the auto road is blocked. It was a special experience to be there in the winter!
